Both filings were made on August 7 by lawyer Robert Lampl who was not immediately available for comment Monday. Despite filing his own personal Chapter 11 protection from creditors in 2007 Tom Jayson is listed as the president of the corporations that run both clubs. The Chapter 11 is the second for Sports Rock which Jayson opened in 2001 as his TV-fortified game-ready version of a modern sports bar which seeks to give sports fan a broad menu of games to watch along with food and drinks. Matrix lists total debts of $197000 with $100000 due to Allegheny County and the rest due to its landlord Cleveland-based Forest City Enterprises. Sports Rock lists debts of more than $165000 with the largest creditors its landlord Walnut Capital Partners and Strategic Energy. Both clubs are listed on Allegheny County’s list of establishments that owe back taxes for the seven percent drink tax. Sports Rock and Matrix both continue to be open for business.
