It is always trippy to think about the fact that we are living through history and watching legacies be written before our very eyes. While the 2009 Red Sox and its fans are busy keeping their eyes on the prize and the standings we are witnessing one of the best bullpens in Red Sox history seeing what is on paper the best pitching rotation in the game and watching future Hall of Famers hone their crafts. n the other hand we are watching what was supposed to be a storybook tale of a pitcher from the other side of the world turn into a $103 million nightmare and cautionary tale. Before our eyes the potential legacy of Daisuke Matsuzaka is taking a turn for the worse. The Japanese phenom was going to make the transition from Japanese baseball to MLB leaving a trail strewn with baffled batters in his wake.

It is sports literature ad nauseam and it’s never-ending. As proof there is yet another book on this very same subject. nly this time it offers a twist as well as a sense of relief because the topic isn’t just about baseball but father-son relationships involving different sports. It’s titled appropriately “Fathers & Sons & Sports. ” And because it’s Father’s Day this book not only would be a great gift for dad but a great read too.
