The problems? Subpar quarterback play (the trio of Allen Evrdige Dustin Sherer and Scott Tolzein combined for 10 touchdowns against 11 interceptions) and a defense than allowed 25.

Recession slams value of New York Times’ stake in Red Sox

5 percent piece of the Sox. The company said earlier this month that it would explore asset sales but a spokeswoman declined to comment on the report. The Times is reportedly seeking $300 million for its stake in New England Sports Ventures the holding company that owns the Red Sox. That’s four times its original $75 million investment made in 2002.
