The FIA says Formula One teams have unanimously agreed to the steps which come as the global financial crisis is hitting automakers. The FIA says that engine life will be doubled in 2009 with each driver limited to a maximum of eight engines over the season. Also teams will not be able to test their cars during the race season except at Grand Prix weekends during scheduled practices. The FIA’s World Motor Sport Council agreed to the measures Friday at a meeting in Monaco.
