EM.Sport Media eyes ‘closer strategic tie-up’ with Highlight…
Forbes – Mar 31, 2008
Sport Media AG said it is studying options for a ‘closer strategic tie-up’ with Swiss company Highlight Communications AG, in which it last year bought a 26. While the German sports media company said it expects its sales and operating profit to improve this year from last year, it declined to give specific guidance because possible strategic measures with Highlight may have a ‘significant influence on the company’s sales and profit development,’ according to a company statement. The company did not say what strategic measures it is considering.

The Serie A club was bounced at this stage last season by United after winning
the first leg 2-1 on home soil. United pounded Roma 7-1 in the return leg to
advance to the semifinals, and the two sides were placed in the same group in
this year’s competition. United won the first meeting 1-0 at Old Trafford before the team’s played to a
meaningless 0-0 draw after both had already qualified for the knockout round. With a poor history against United in recent matches, the news that captain
Francesco Totti would not take part in the game on Tuesday only added to the
club’s troubles.

ATLANTA ? A long, tough season ended with a Gator chomp again. Mission accomplished for Florida. The Gators were too much to handle once again Monday night, keeping their stranglehold on the U. college basketball world with an 84-75 victory over Ohio State for their second straight NCAA title. Not even a 25-point, 12-rebound performance by Ohio State’s Greg Oden could stop the Gators (35-5) from completing the quest they set upon when all the starters delayed their NBA plans for a try at another title. Al Horford had 18 points and 12 rebounds while Taurean Green added 16 points to lead the Gators, who celebrated with the usual chomps and took a bite out of NCAA history, too ? becoming the first team to repeat since Duke in 1991-92 and adding their name to the debate about the best teams of all time.
British cycling must spread the word of its success

But it is not just the Olympic classes that are impressive; of the 18 eventson offer at the Track World Championships, Britain won half. It’s adomination that no cycling nation has achieved before and sends a warningshot to all the others before the Olympics. In Olympic circles, people talk of the top four sports (athletics, rowing, sailing and cycling) in revered tones, but if the competition days in theLaoshan Velodrome in Beijing are anything like last week, there shouldreally be only one sport to which the ultimate respect is paid. Never has anOlympic sport burst on to the scene in this country with such a calculatedand deserved medal haul… It’s adomination that no cycling nation has achieved before and sends a warningshot to all the others before the Olympics. And it’s actually like reading the magazine — click on the cover and it blows up and you can flip page by page through the entire issue, zooming in on articles you want to read. I could seriously spend hours and hours leafing through issues from my 1980s childhood or the 1990s.

Through circumstances somewhat beyond my control, I am now a stepfather. This creates constant in-home conflict: I just want to sit on the couch; the kids want to do stuff. Them: “Norman, can you take us to the library?”
Me: “The library? Please. I’m trying to watch TV here. ”
Last week, my most recent bride, Toni — aka She Could Be The One III — asked me to take the 11-year-old, Isaiah, to baseball practice.
