    Syria Meet Underlines Growing Number of Arab Women in Sports Journalis…

    The four-day event presented by sponsor ART Sports Channel for the Arab Sports Confederation attracted 38 participants from 13 Arab countries namely Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Palestine, Iraq, Sudan, Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Algeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and host Syria. By their sheer numbers the gathering of lady sports scribes in the Arab world reflected the growing interest in the specialized field of sports journalism. Held over nine sessions, the meeting which ended on Tuesday made a number of recommendations aimed at, among others, encouraging more women to take up sports and spreading awareness on the role the journalists play in sports and how they could improve themselves.     1959, 1986, 1988 and 2006. Coach Hassan Shehata became just the second manager

    White and Eric Gordon finally got Indiana a signature win. White scored 21 points and had 13 rebounds and Gordon hit a number of big shots to lead the 14th-ranked Hoosiers past Ohio State 59-53 on Sunday.

    10, 2008| Page 3C DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A meeting at the NASCAR hauler Friday night after an on-track incident between drivers Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch ended abruptly when Stewart allegedly struck Busch and left, said four sources with knowledge of the incident. The altercation was the reason NASCAR vice president Jim Hunter told media outside the hauler another conversation with the drivers would be held Saturday morning, the sources said. Stewart was seen exiting the rear entrance of the NASCAR hauler not long after both drivers arrived. Busch remained far longer, sources said.
