The National Center For Drug Free Sport was selected Tuesday torun the largest steroids testing program in the country, testing40,000-50,000 public school athletes by the end of the 2008-09school year. Testing is expected to begin within weeks, although theUniversity Interscholastic League, the governing body of Texaspublic school sports, declined to say exactly when. Drug Free Sport competed with 13 other companies for thetwo-year, $6 million program. com Published Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008 David Nylund spent the better part of four years researching his book on the phenomenon of sports talk radio, tuning in so much it became part of his life. He drove around with it. It was on when he went to sleep. Needless to say, Nylund’s marriage ended before his field work.
CBC ponders its own amateur sport channel

Scott Moore, the head of CBC Sports, Tuesday confirmed that an all-sports digital channel is in the discussion phase at the network. However, he said applying to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission for a license is not imminent. "It’s nowhere near to being something that we’re taking to the CRTC," he said.
