My mission was to watch three sporting events simultaneously — on the same television — while acceding to the demands of a holiday-crazed wife. Nothing I did was going to compare to say Kim Goodman who set a world record by popping her eyeballs to a protrusion of 11 millimeters beyond her eye sockets in 1998 but Guinness was sure to take note nonetheless. It turned out to be the perfect storm. Who could have guessed that all three games – Steelers-Rams; Penguins-Bruins; Pitt-Duke — would be packed with enough drama to fill an episode of “Brothers Sisters?”
