SF finally convinced me to read the article. Granted the article wasn’t that spectacular it did bode well for David’s image in my eyes. You see I have always had a little sports soft point for revival stories and his apparently is one of the biggest. Does this mean that I am going to rush out and purchase a L. Galaxy jersey and some David Beckham endorsed Addias soccer shoes most definitely not. However the article has peaked my curiosity in the MLS… (Much like I did hockey a few years back) It seems like it is a relatively quick growing sport here in America. In fact it has generated quite the buzz on our local radio programming here in Richmond. Some key points that Sports Illustrated brought to the forefront that have only increased my interest were as follows:1. More soccer specific stadiums are being built in cities then in any other up-and- coming sport. Now the devils advocate in me can easily relate that to the fact that what other up-and-coming sports is MLS in competition with currently. However the sports fan in me says new venues and new fan basis are always something to get relatively excited about.
