Sports fans who don’t shout much
Toronto Star – Mar 19, 2007
Check out the pub and club action for most world sporting events and the fan enthusiasm can be measured in shouts and standing-room-only TV gawking. That’s not the case for viewers of the Cricket World Cup in which 240 players from 16 countries are competing in a series of stages leading to the cup final on April 28. Although cricket is one of the world’s most popular sports few GTA pubs and clubs screen cricket for their customers. About 30 fans were watching the Canada vs. England match yesterday on the big screen at the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club on Wilson Ave.

Then Nadal had to hold off Djokovic in the second set punctuating his 6-2 7-5 triumph at the Pacific Life pen by celebrating from a prone position after Djokovic’s return of a lob landed beyond the line.
