    Castro is Cuba’s acting president while his older brother Fidel recovers from intestinal surgery. Jacques Rogge in Cuba to attend the Sport for All Congress had requested a meeting with the elder Castro but no such encounter was reported by the time the official left the island for Jamaica late Thursday. In the Thursday meeting Castro told Rogge that Cuba is committed to the fight against doping and informed him of plans to “continue developing sports education and health” on the island the Communist Party daily newspaper Granma said. Rogge’s visit came as Cuba lobbies to get baseball back on the lympic roster after it was dropped last year in an IC vote. Baseball has been an lympic sport since 1992 but will not be part of the 2012 London Games.
