    10:00 PM PDT on Friday ctober 27 2006By LARRY BRTSTEINSpecial to The Press-EnterpriseARCADIA – The good news for the California thoroughbred breeding industry is that seven state-bred runners were among the 127 horses pre-entered Wednesday for the Breeders' Cup at Churchill Downs on Nov. Five of them are likely to run in the eight-race $20 million event which would represent the highest number for a Breeders' Cup not held at either Santa Anita or Hollywood Park. The bad news for the California thoroughbred breeding industry is that with five top state-breds competing in the Breeders' Cup the fields for three of today's Cal Cup XVII races at ak Tree lose star quality.
