    Feelgood with a bubbling potion or Balco chemist with a designer pill or shifty trainer with a trench coat full of steroids? Because Andre Agassi is in need. The puncture wounds in his back are adding up to perforation and his pain-relief options are narrowing down to desperation. We have offered so much disdain for drug cheats and dismissed the sad excuses and shamed the steroid pushers but what Agassi-ites wouldnt do for a miracle cure to heal their idols deteriorating back.

    Howard approached equaled and then broke Ralph Kiner’s major-league record for most home runs in a sophomore season. Kiner hit 51 homers as a second-year player for the 1947 Pirates. The Braves kept Howard in the ballpark during their 11-inning victory in the nightcap. In major league history there have been 36 instances of players hitting at least three home runs in the first of two games in a given day.

Chesbro 66 suffered a heart attack and died Friday night inStillwater where he’d spent more than four decades at klahomaState as an athlete coach and athletic administrator. A moment of silence in honor of Chesbro was held before klahomaState’s football game against Missouri State on Saturday at BoonePickens Stadium. As an athlete Chesbro was a member of NCAA title teams in 1959and 1961. After his graduation he worked as a high school coach inBlackwell and Stillwater before becoming klahoma State’s coach in1970.
