The operation would be expensive but lifesaving although only in the short run. ur dog had lymphoma and no matter what we did he might live for only six months.

Lazio and Fiorentina also were demoted to the Serie B while AC Milan was spared demotion but given a 15-point penalty and will not play in any European competition this season. The toughest penalties meted out to individuals were against former Juventus general manager Luciano Moggi and former Juventus chief executive Antonio Giraudo who received the maximum five-year ban for match-fixing and disloyalty with a recommendation to the Italian soccer federation (FIGC) to make it a ban for life. The pair who resigned in May along with the club’s entire board were accused of creating a network of contacts with FIGC officials to influence refereeing assignments and get players yellow-carded _ allegations that are at the heart of the scandal. f the 26 officials or referees accused in the scandal 19 received punishment ranging from the maximum five-year ban to a warning; five were acquitted; and two were banned for life without prosecution because they resigned before being charged.

The facilities at Iffley Road would cater for 80 sports and would include a new cafe and a three-court national competition standard tennis centre. Proposals have also been put forward to expand the cricket school and create a climbing wall and martial arts room. An exhibition detailing the plans will be open at the site until 18 July.

sport is big business and the economic impact of sport has long been assessed and recognised since the mid 1980sInvesting in sport as our businessJamaica needs to decide how it can creatively invest in sport and make it a business if the country is to maintain and even improve its status in that sector across the world. There must be mechanisms in place to ensure that sport gets the support necessary for teams to compete in regional and international competitions and to create opportunities for growth and development of Jamaica’s economy. In getting the best value for sport Jamaica must create a National Sport Strategy: Driving Jamaica’s Economy to reduce the inequities associated with gender age and social class. It must also address the issue of finding the funding necessary to maintain the programmes which aim to reduce the inequities mentioned earlier. The strategy should therefore speak to:- improving quality of life- multi-faceted approach to complex social issues- voluntarism and active citizenship- building and maintaining sporting infrastructure- attracting major events to Jamaica – economic benefitsJamaica has some aspects of a policy in place.
